AC Milan Midfielder Injured Again Due to Artificial Turf

Unfortunate news for AC Milan as midfielder Ismael Bennacer faces another injury setback.

Ismael Bennacer of AC Milan may be sidelined for up to three months after sustaining an injury while training with his national teammates. The Algerian national team confirmed that Bennacer encountered an unspecified physical issue following a recent training session, and he will return to Milanello for further evaluation and treatment.

Bennacer is extremely susceptible to injury.

The Algerian players have been training in preparation for their AFCON qualifier match against Liberia. Bennacer trained on artificial turf to adapt, as the match will also be played on such a surface in Paynesville.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Bennacer has suffered a grade-three calf tear, which could keep him out of action for three months. Due to the nature of the injury, it will take around six weeks for the muscle to heal before he can begin physical training on that leg. At best, Bennacer could return to play in about two and a half months.

The 26-year-old midfielder will certainly miss upcoming matches against Venezia, Liverpool, and Inter. There is also the possibility that he will be unavailable for Serie A matches against Napoli, Juventus, and Atalanta, as well as Champions League clashes with Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge, and Real Madrid in the coming months.
