Breaking News! Manuel Ugarte Arrives in Manchester.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Manuel Ugarte this summer.
After selling Scott McTominay to Napoli, Manchester United immediately began negotiations to purchase Ugarte outright, as PSG desired.
Man Utd initially considered a loan deal for Ugarte with an option to buy at the end of the season. However, when Napoli entered the fray and agreed to pay 30 million euros for McTominay, Man Utd quickly accepted the offer. They plan to use the funds to secure Ugarte from PSG.
In the end, Man Utd reached an agreement at 50 million euros, with an additional 10 million euros in performance-based add-ons.
Recently, Romano provided further details: “Manuel Ugarte has arrived in Manchester, landing in the city last night.”
“The plan has been confirmed. The medical examination is also underway. The deal is worth 50 million euros, plus 10 million euros in add-ons.”
Thus, Man Utd could announce the Ugarte signing as soon as today once all formalities are completed.
Ugarte is likely to be the fifth and final signing for the Old Trafford club this summer. Prior to this, they successfully signed Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.
