Bruno Fernandes 2.0″ is the ideal deal for Man Utd

The Old Trafford team has many reasons to secure a second blockbuster signing from Sporting CP.

Perhaps the most frustrating issue for Manchester United fans this season is that Erik Ten Hag’s squad has actually played much better than their results suggest. In all three recent matches, United’s forwards squandered far too many opportunities in front of goal, a problem that has persisted since last season and continues to haunt them.

Obviously, Rasmus Hojlund’s injury has had an impact, but he also experienced a significant dip in form during the second half of last season. Meanwhile, Joshua Zirkzee is not a true striker, so why doesn’t Man Utd go after a “number 9” who scored 43 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions last season?

Man Utd should consider Gyokeres.

The last time Man Utd signed a player from Sporting CP, they secured what is considered one of the best signings in the “post-Sir Alex” era: Bruno Fernandes. Now, Sporting has another star who fits perfectly with the Red Devils, Viktor Gyökeres, one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment. Clearly, this is a deal Man Utd should pursue. The Swedish goal machine has proven that he is not a “one-season wonder” with his explosive form this season. After just four appearances in the Portuguese Liga, Gyökeres has already scored seven goals and provided one assist. Across all competitions, he has contributed to 10 of Sporting’s goals in five matches, making top European clubs regret overlooking him in the summer transfer window.

Among those clubs is Man Utd, alongside Premier League giants like Arsenal and Chelsea, and it seems that being “ignored” in the recent transfer window has fueled Gyökeres’ explosive form. According to Unitedinfocus, Gyökeres’ impressive stats are not a result of luck, but rather his movement in the box to create high-quality chances and his world-class ability to convert them into goals. This season, Gyökeres has an expected goals (xG) figure of 7, and he has scored exactly 7 goals – a testament to his top-notch finishing. Meanwhile, in just the match against Liverpool, Man Utd missed three big chances and failed to score, despite having an xG of 1.36. Clearly, Gyökeres is the perfect signing to solve United’s problems, and at 26 years old, the Swedish star is entering his prime.

Gyokeres would be the perfect signing for Man Utd.

Moreover, Gyökeres has experience playing in England, having spent time in the Championship with Coventry City. From every professional standpoint, it is clear that Gyökeres is the ideal signing for Man Utd.
