Frenkie De Jong disagrees with Barca

Midfielder Frenkie De Jong and Barcelona are currently at odds over the treatment method for his ankle injury.

Frenkie De Jong has been dealing with a serious ankle injury since April and has yet to return to the pitch.

Recently, Barcelona suggested that De Jong undergo surgery to fully resolve the issue. They urged the 1997-born midfielder to proceed with surgery soon so he could quickly return to play.

However, according to Diaria Ara, De Jong does not want to undergo surgery. He believes that it is not the most effective way to address the ligament problem in his ankle.

De Jong has been out of action since April due to injury.

Furthermore, surgery could potentially keep De Jong out until 2025. The 27-year-old midfielder is still working on a conventional treatment method, hoping to resolve the situation without surgery.

Barcelona has reason to be anxious about De Jong’s situation. He is one of the highest-paid players on the team, and his prolonged absence has significantly affected the club, especially as they are struggling with a high number of injured players.

Not only Barca, but Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman is also very concerned about De Jong’s condition. The national team coach considers this a dangerous situation, as the player has suffered ankle injuries three times in just the past year.

Barcelona is currently facing an injury crisis. In addition to De Jong, their injury list includes Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo.
